Paper Based Storage Systems

Paper has been the traditional method of storing data for a very long time.

It has many advantages over digital devices, including:

  • Paper based storage materials are cheap and easy to produce.
  • Easy to distribute and carry.
  • Do not require complex technology to use.

Its disadvantages include:

  • Require more storage space
  • Easily damaged
  • Difficult to search

Examples of paper-based storage devices that are still common today include data entry forms, record cards, photographs, books and magazines.
